Foster's Landing Town Hall Meeting - April 26

On April 26, 2021, the City of Foster City and Essex Properties held a Town Hall Meeting for the current and former residents of Foster's Landing to discuss the programs and resources to them.  This was in partnership with the Housing Industry Foundation, Samaritan House, HIP Housing, and Society of St. Vicent de Paul of San Mateo County.  

We:

• Provided  updates on City and Essex Actions
• Provided an overview of adopted Programs and Proposed Programs
• Provided instructions on Application process for Early Relocation Assistance Program
• Presented on Programs and Services: Samarian House, HIP Housing, Society of Saint Vincent De Paul San Mateo
• Responded to Questions from Residents

Early Relocation Assistance Program

The City of Foster City and Essex Properties in partnership with HIF established the Early Relocation Assistance Program to provide the residents of Foster’s Landing Below Market Rate Program with financial assistance to off-set the up-front cost associated with relocating and enable the residents in finding replacement housing.  This program:

• Reimburse the former residents of Foster’s Landing for relocation costs due to displacement;
• Minimizes the impacts of displacement by assisting tenants with move-out costs, rent deposits, application fees, etc.; and
• Enables current Foster’s Landing residents to relocate early by offsetting the upfront costs associated with moving.
