Bocce, also known as Italian lawn bowling, is one of the most widely played games in the world and is one of the oldest lawn or yard games. Developed into its present form in Italy (where it is called bocce, the plural of the Italian word boccia which means 'bowl' in the sport sense). Residents and surrounding community members can enjoy our beautiful courts in Leo Ryan Park.

Three Leagues a year: Spring, Summer and Fall consisting of 10 games
2023 Spring Season Bocce Ball League begins the week of March 13
Teams consist of 4 to 8 players.
Monday Afternoon starting at 2:00 pm
Wednesday Evening at 5:15 pm
Thursday Evening at 6:30 pm

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I rent bocce balls?

You can rent equipment through the Parks and Recreation Department at the front desk of the William Walker Recreation Center from 9:00am-9:00pm. You must leave a Driver's License at the front desk to rent out the equipment.

When do courts open? Are they open to everyone?

The bocce ball courts are located in Leo Ryan Park. Unless there is league play or a rental, the dedicated bocce courts are public courts which means they are first come, first serve. The courts are open from dawn to dusk. Public restrooms are located in the Recreation Center located across the main parking lot.
