In the second installment of our Building Permits Workshop Series, permitted and unpermitted work was discussed. The presentation included reasons why work without permits may be present, the consequences of work without permits, examples of unsafe installation defects caused by work without permits, how these examples are prevented, and how you can legalize work that has already been done without permits.

General Information Workshop - May 8, 2024

This free event was designed to teach residents and homeowners everything they need to know about Building Permits -- including how to get them, why they are important, how they can enhance your property value, and much more. 

The hour-long session was led by Jay Marlette, a Building Inspector in our Community Development Department, which featured a presentation as well as a Q&A session. See below for attachments from the presentation.
