Investigations Bureau
The Foster City Detective Bureau (Investigations) is comprised of two Detectives and one Detective Sergeant. The Bureau investigates crimes involving high property/monetary loss or serious injury and specific types of crime such as homicide, rape, kidnapping, robbery, narcotics and white collar crimes. They also work with other Law Enforcement agencies following up on leads as well as assisting in case development and the serving of search and arrest warrants. The Detective Bureau is also responsible for coordinating with the District Attorney's (DA) Office on the prosecution of cases as the liaison between the FCPD and the DA's Office.
Officers assigned to the Detective Bureau receive special training in investigating crimes involving sexual assault, loss of property, vice and narcotics, and receive supplemental training in areas such as interview and interrogation.
