Since 1985, the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) has designated the month of July as Parks and Recreation Month. Now that summer has arrived, the Foster City Parks and Recreation Department encourages you to check out the many parks and recreation opportunities available for the entire family! Come enjoy participating in the many free special events, such as a Summer Concert, the weekly mobile food truck marketplace through Off the Grid, or the Community Bike Ride.
Join the Foster City Parks and Recreation Department's Summer Camp Staff for an afternoon of fun family games! All family members are welcomed and encouraged to participate in some of our favorite games like Potato Sack Races and a Watermelon Eating Contest. Join us in the Leo Ryan Park Meadow from 1:30pm-2:30pm!
We've combined two of our favorite 4th of July events, the Family Parade and the Dog Show, into one new exciting event! Decorate your wagons, bikes, and of course yourself with your best stars, stripes, and red, white, and blue for the annual 4th of July Parade. Registration is free for families and dogs. Contestants must be pre-registered prior to 4th of July. Registration Closes at 5pm July 3rd.
This event historically turns out a large crowd for the full day of activities and events. The community is encouraged to walk, bike, and carpool to the Fourth of July Celebration. There will be no shuttle service for this event.
Here are a few tips to help make your Fourth of July in Foster City a safe and enjoyable experience.
Fireworks Firing Line: The firing line site for the July 4th Pyrotechnic Show will be located at the west end of Ryan Park. The firing line site can be a dangerous area and will be fenced off. We request your cooperation in keeping clear from the firing line and not crossing the fenced-off area.
Come enjoy the sounds and dance of India! This event is organized by community volunteers and co-sponsored by the Foster City Parks and Recreation Department. Don't miss out on this free family friendly event held in the Leo Ryan Park Amphitheater.
The Foster City Parks and Recreation Department is proud to offer the Annual Family Overnighter in Boothbay Park! We are delighted to offer your family a night under the stars!
