Winter Fun

Happy Holidays from Foster City Parks and Recreation Department!  The winter season is upon us and while we know the holidays will be celebrated a little differently, we still have a lot in store for you this season.  

Fitness Instructor Application

No individual or business may operate on City property including parks without permission from the City of Foster City. Individuals and/or business cannot use park space for private gain. This permit application is for prospective trainers/ instructors who will work with no more than two (2) clients at a time. For instructors/trainers who wish to offer a class (three or more clients at one time), you must submit a Contract Instructor Application packet.

The appropriate steps to offer classes is outlined in the application.

Mystery Hunt

A mystery scene has been built for attendees to enjoy.  This scene will have hidden monsters, aliens and various other elements which attendees will have to hunt for.  A checklist of hidden elements will be provided, and those who are able to find everything on the checklist will be entered into a raffle for some awesome prizes!

Spooky Boo Trail

After trick or treating, take a walk through our Spooky Boo Trail!  Our Leo Ryan Park hilltop and forest will be haunted, and decorated with spooky Halloween decor. The Spooky Boo  Trail is a paved pathway with a slight incline, but no stairs.  

 

Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Foster City Recreation will be hosting Pumpkin decorating contests.  Those who enter the contest will have their pumpkins displayed on the hilltop, and all attendees will be given the chance to vote for their favorites.  Contests spots are limited, and will require pre-registration.   Registrants can register for the decorating (painting, coloring, etc) contest, or can register for the pumpkin carving contest.  All pumpkins must be dropped off at the Recreation Center by Friday, October 29th by 3pm.  Winning pumpkins will be highlighted on our Recreation social media pages,

Costume Contest

Our annual costume contest returns!  All festival attendees who would like to participate in our costume contest may register on site prior to 12:45pm. The costume contest is for registered attendees only, no extra fee to sign up. 

Costume Contest categories: Best Individual, Best Group, Most Creative.

NEW Category: Best Pet Costume! Festival attendees can bring their pets dressed in costume. 

Trick or Treat

Members of different community organizations and businesses will have a booth and run trick or treat stations.  All candy distributed will be pre-packaged from sealed bags which will be opened as the festival begins.  

CALL FOR BIDS for CUL-DE-SAC AND EASEMENTS MAINTENANCE

Scope of work includes providing landscape and "hardscape" maintenance of street Cul-de-Sac islands and easement areas on 44 Cul-de-Sacs, 7 Island Bridges, 6 Walkways, 1 Corporation Yard Exterior (E. Third Ave) and all other areas as outlined in List of Locations and Map of Locations, Attachments A and B to this Call for Bids linked below.  The contract term for this work shall be for one year beginning January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2021, or as extended at the City’s sole discretion through December 31, 2024.
