Water

The Water Division is dedicated to providing the residents of Foster City with fresh, clean, and healthful water. The Estero Municipal Improvement District acquires water from the Hetch Hetchy System. The staff of the Public Works Water Division ensures that proper water system pressure is maintained and that water booster pumps will respond to emergency requirements at all times. The Water Division also manages a preventative maintenance program to replace older valves and water meters.

Foster City is located in an area of water resource scarcity -- there is never enough water to allow waste.
