Street Maintenance
The Streets Division of the Foster City Public Works Department is responsible for periodic maintenance activities such as street resurfacing. The streets within Foster City are maintained in excellent condition through a combination of maintenance programs managed by the Public Works street crews and a bi-annual pavement project. The streets to be included in the pavement program are identified through the use of a Pavement Management System. The program is used to:
- Enable the City to analyze the condition of the streets; and
- Prepare a resurfacing program as needed to maintain the high quality of streets within Foster City.
Foster City has been recognized consistently by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) as having excellent overall street quality and as having one of the best maintained street systems in the MTC system.
