The June 5, 2018 election results will be available on the San Mateo County Elections website starting at 8:05 p.m. on Election Day.
Measure P (Ballot Measure)
On March 5, 2018 the City Council placed a $90 million bond measure to locally fund levee improvements on the June 5, 2018 ballot. In order to pass, the bond measure needs to be approved by 66.7% of voters.
The following ballot question will appear on the ballot:
To improve the levee protecting essential city services, including fire, police, water, sewer, transportation infrastructure; protect Foster City homes, schools, businesses from flooding; avoid both Foster City being designated a FEMA special flood hazard area and flood insurance requirements for residents/businesses; shall Foster City issue $90,000,000 in bonds at legal rates, levy approximately $40 per $100,000 assessed valuation, averaging $5,171,000 collected annually while bonds are outstanding, with citizens’ oversight, no funds for administrators, all funds staying local?

Ballot Arguments and Impartial Analysis
The San Mateo County Elections Department will print a voter information guide with information about the bond measure. Arguments in favor or against the measure may be submitted for printing in the guide. If more than one argument in favor or against the measure is submitted, the argument for printing will be selected in priority order in accordance with California Elections Code §9067.
The deadline to submit a ballot argument was March 16, 2018. The deadline to submit an argument rebuttal was March 26, 2018.
