South Bayside Industries
The Shoreway Environmental Center in San Carlos is owned and managed by RethinkWaste (South Bayside Waste Management Authority) and consists of a permitted solid waste transfer station, a recycling processing facility, and an education center. South Bayside Industries (SBI) operates the facility on behalf of RethinkWaste. RethinkWaste (South Bayside Waste Management Authority)
Formed in 1982, the South Bayside Waste Management Authority (SBWMA) is a joint powers authority (JPA) comprised of 12 member agencies in San Mateo County: Atherton, Belmont, Burlingame, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Hillsborough, Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Carlos, San Mateo, the County of San Mateo, and the West Bay Sanitary District.
