Recycle, Compost, and Garbage Collection Program

Recology San Mateo is the Recycle, Compost, and Garbage Collection service provider for commercial and multi-family dwellings.

Per the terms of their Franchise Agreement, multi-family dwelling means an individual residential premises in a building that contains five (5) or more individual residential premises.

Businesses and multi-family dwellings may subscribe to the following: 

1. Recycle – Blue Cart/Bin: For all recyclables mixed together (metal, plastic and glass, and cardboard and paper). Single-stream recycling services are offered at no additional cost.
2. Compost – Green Cart/Bin: For food scraps, landscape materials, waxed paper and cardboard, wooden crates and pallets, and more. Compost collection services are offered at a reduced rate of 25% less than garbage rates.
3. Garbage – Black Cart/Bin: For anything that can't be recycled or composted.

Interior recycle and compost bins are also available at no additional charge.
