Virtual Recreation and Resource Center & More

To continue to provide access to virtual classes, resources, and entertainment, the Parks and Recreation Department launched a Virtual Recreation and Resource Center. The site will be updated regularly and provides the community suggestions and resources to keep Foster City engaged and active.

The Recreation Center is open Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.  Evening and weekend hours vary.

Interested parties are invited to submit a proposal to provide Windsurf Lessons and Watercraft Rental Concession at Leo Ryan Park Boathouse, in Foster City, as outlined and delineated on the Scope of Services on Request for Proposals linked below. Proposals are due to the Recreation Center, 650 Shell Boulevard, Foster City, CA 94404, before 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

Foster City's new community event, Summer Days, is back for another great event.  To kick off the festivities, we have the family carnival opening up at 5pm and  new for 2020 is a concert and car show.  Admission is FREE to the event!

Cancelled - Playground Replacements Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Foster City Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to announce the completion of playground replacements at Edgewater, Killdeer, Arcturus, and Farragut Parks. The purchase and installation of the playground structures were approved by the City Council in November 2019. The newly upgraded playgrounds are designed to include, climbing elements and spinners. Additionally, the park improvements meet current American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines, which change on an annual basis.

Request for Proposals – KITEBOARD LESSONS, RETAIL, RENTAL AND DEMONSTRATIONS AT BAYWINDS PARK

Submit a proposal to provide Kiteboard Lessons, Retail, Rental and Demonstrations at Baywinds Park, Foster City, as outlined and delineated on the linked Scope of Services. Proposals are due to the Recreation Center, 650 Shell Boulevard, Foster City, CA 94404, before 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2020.

Synthetic Surface Replacement (CIP 301-691)

The project consists of removal and disposal of old synthetic turf and installation of new synthetic turf, header board and sub-surface repairs as appropriate for each site.

Locations of the project are Boat Park (Corner of Foster City Boulevard and Bounty Drive) and the Recreation Center lagoon to the Boathouse boardwalk.
