Street Rehabilitation Project (301-697)

The Street Rehabilitation Project for Fiscal Year 2020/2021 (CIP 301-697) consists of street rehabilitation and pavement maintenance on various streets in Neighborhood No. 7 and No. 8.  The rehabilitation project will help to increase and maintain the City’s overall Pavement Condition Index (PCI).  The PCI is a numerical index used to indicate the general condition of a pavement.  Design for the project was performed in-house by Public Works staff.

Total funding of $1,500,000 is provided by a combination of Measure A, Measure M, Gas Tax, and SB1.  The locations and type of treatments to be performed as part of CIP 301-697 are listed below:

Street Rehabilitation (including Base Repairs, Asphalt Milling, and Asphalt Overlay):

• Bounty Drive from Shell Boulevard to Foster City Boulevard

• Bounty Drive from Foster City Boulevard to Comet Drive

• Dolphin Isle

Preventative Maintenance (including Crack Sealing, Base Repairs, and Slurry Seal):

• Boothbay Avenue from Edgewater Boulevard to Galveston Street

• Chesapeake Avenue from Boothbay Avenue to Biscayne Avenue

• Edgewater Boulevard from Beach Park Boulevard to Baffin Street

• Nantucket Street from Chesapeake Avenue to Biscayne Avenue

• Port Royal Avenue from Edgewater Boulevard to Edgewater Boulevard

All locations identified above include striping and signage improvements, concrete curb and gutter improvements, utility adjustments if necessary, and the retrofitting of existing non-compliant curb ramps in conformance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Construction is anticipated to take approximately 4 months and start in the October 2022.
