Make a Difference Day
Saturday, October 23, 2021
We all have opportunities every day to change the world, whether we’re helping out a neighbor with their groceries or picking up trash in a local park. It’s amazing what just a small effort by an individual or group of individuals can do to change the world or at least their local neighborhood. Make a Difference Day was established to help encourage us to take one day a year to try to make a difference in the world.
In honor of the City of Foster City's 50th anniversary, what better way to celebrate our community by supporting one another. We are challenging all of our residents to engage in at least 1 act of kindness on Saturday, October 23rd.
Step 1- Call to Action: Whether you're an individual or a local organization, send us how you plan to celebrate National Make a Difference Day. Are you hosting a garage sale to raise money for a charity or seeking items for a donation drive? Are you offering your time to provide a service to the community? Register your activity with us by October 15th at: https://forms.gle/b9gpZ6KTNcQ2G8Xb6. We'll list all of the registered volunteer opportunities on our site to help promote your cause.
Please note: Any project that takes place on city property or private property, the event organizer needs to get proper authorization prior to submitting their event/activity.
Step 2- Get Involved: Beginning October 18, check back on this site to see the various ways to participate.
Step 3- Share How You're Making a Difference: Whether you are participating in one of the below service projects or volunteering on your own, share with us photos of how you're celebrating Make a Difference Day by tagging us @Fcrecreation.
Volunteer Hours Tracker: We're encouraging everyone who volunteers to track their hours on October 23 and share it with us. Submit your hours here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc0ZisI_-yfcsPxhN8FS0HFLVH7e1oU...
