Will there be a Fourth of July Celebration this year?

Yes! While the event may look different this year, the local service clubs will offer in-person food concession sales for a picnic setup out in Leo Ryan Park (pre-registration required).  The annual Dog Show will also make its return this year! Visit www.fostercity.org/july4th for more information.

Will there be a fireworks show?

Yes

Can I picnic with my family in the park?

Yes, we especially encourage you to purchase from the service club concession to take advantage of the designated picnic area in Leo Ryan Park.  Lawn games and Trivia will take place in the picnic area.  

  • The picnic squares in Leo Ryan Park have been designated for food concession patrons
  • Use of picnic tables at any parks are discouraged. Please make sure to sanitize picnic tables before and after use, if you chose to use them.
  • Per City Ordinance12.28.010F, the consumption of alcohol is prohibited in the park (Exceptions are made for community events and private rentals).

Can I bbq in the park?

Yes! However, hot coal barbeques are not allowed and no barbeques are permitted on synthetic turf.

Will the park restrooms be open?

Yes, park restrooms will be open. The Recreation Center and all city facilities are closed on the holiday. 

Can I lay out tarps or tents on the grass?

No, tarps and tents cause damage to the grass.  We encourage you to use blankets, and pop up tents without bottoms.
