San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department’s Community Risk Reduction Division (SMCFD CRRD) offers a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/ Automated External Defibrillator (AED) class several times per year. The class follows the CPR curriculum of the American Heart Association (AHA) and includes Adult and Child (not infants) CPR and choking, as well as instruction in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Our CPR class is offered to residents (12-years and older) of Belmont, Foster City, and San Mateo, or individuals who work within these cities. There is a class fee per person.
After successfully completing the class, students will receive an AHA CPR/AED certification valid for two years. All classes include video presentation, lecture, and hands-on practice. This class teaches life-saving skills, giving students a chance to interact with neighbors, SMCFD personnel, and to ask questions. Please dress comfortably in order to fully participate in the class.
If you have questions about an upcoming CPR/AED class, please email prepare@smcfire.org or call the Public Education/CERT Coordinator at (650) 522-7963 on weekdays between 9 AM and 4 PM.
