Maria Saguisag-Sid Named New Human Resources Director in Foster City - Appointment Effective September 3, 2019

Human Resources Director Maria Saguisag-Sid - HeadshotCity Manager Jeff Moneda is pleased to announce the appointment of Maria Saguisag-Sid as Foster City’s new Human Resources Director beginning September 3, 2019.  

Ms. Saguisag-Sid will oversee Foster City’s Human Resources Department, which is responsible for employee and labor relations, benefits administration, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, organizational development, workers’ compensation, risk management, and all other aspects of Human Resources.

An extensive Human Resources background has positioned Ms. Saguisag-Sid to carry on the tradition of excellent employee/employer relations that makes Foster City an employer of choice for a top-quality workforce.  She commented, “I am excited to join the Foster City team and am looking forward to supporting the great staff and community. My experiences collaborating on training and other programs with Foster City employees during my time in Brisbane have always been positive, and I hope to be innovative in how Human Resources supports the organization with their growth and challenges.”

Maria Saguisag-Sid has a long career in the Human Resources field with experience in both the public and private sector.  Ms. Saguisag-Sid's previous position was Principal Analyst for the City of Brisbane, where she oversaw the Human Resources division and had oversight of Citywide programs such as solid waste management and commuter transportation.  She earned her Master of Public Administration degree from San Francisco State University with an emphasis on Urban Administration.  Ms. Saguisag-Sid stays involved with her alma mater as a member of the SFSU MPA Advisory Board. She is also co-chairperson of the Regional Training and Development Consortium for Public Agencies, which provides shared training opportunities for public agencies in San Mateo County.
