As part of the City’s “Healthy Waters, Healthy Parks” initiative, the City of Foster City invites you to join your friends and neighbors on Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for Foster City’s Earth Day Community Clean-Up. This is your opportunity to help keep Foster City clean and healthy!
Online registration for volunteers is available at https://www.fostercity.org/community/page/earth-day-community-clean. Volunteers will collect litter at twelve locations around Foster City. Most locations can accommodate at least four volunteers, so sign up early to secure your favorite spot to clean up. Distribution of supplies will be handled on-site by Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members, who will provide on-site safety for the clean-up volunteers. Participants are highly encouraged to bring their own gardening work gloves and refillable water bottle; however, all other supplies will be provided. Clean-up volunteers will receive a free event t-shirt.
Residents wishing to clean in their own neighborhood, can also share their efforts by using the hashtag, #HealthyFosterCity.
Mayor Richa Awasthi said, “Community clean-up events like this are so important and empower the Foster City community to actively participate in keeping their City clean, safe, and beautiful. Being clean and green is vital for our personal health and that of our natural environment. Foster City is also so fortunate to have a number of volunteers who participate in community cleanups throughout the year.”
