Free E-Waste Drop-Off and Community Shred Event in Foster City

RethinkWaste.org is teaming up with the City of Foster City to hold a Free Drop-Off Electronic Collection and Community Shred Event for Foster City residents on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, or until the trucks are filled, whichever comes first, at the City Hall Parking Lot, 610 Foster City Boulevard, Foster City. 

Community Shred:  To raise awareness and to promote prevention of consumer fraud and identity theft, Community Shred events give Foster City residents the opportunity to have confidential documents that they no longer need safely destroyed on site, free of charge.  Staples and paper clips are OK.  Note: There is a limit of 3 boxes per household.

E-waste Drop-Off:  It is illegal to dispose of electronics in the trash.  Do the right thing–recycle your electronics and computer equipment for FREE.  See item list below.

Acceptable Items

Camcorders, Cell and Desk Phones, Chips and Components, Computers, Connectors/Cables, DVD Players, Fax Machines, Fluorescent Tubes (Limit 5 per household), Keyboards, Lab Equipment, Laptops, Mice, Monitors, Optical Drives, PC Boards, PDAs, Printers, Radios, Scanners, Servers, Stereos, Storage Discs, Tape and Zip Drives, Televisions, UPS Power Supply Units, Video Game Consoles and VCRs.

Unacceptable Items

Household Appliances, like Cooktops, Dishwashers, Fans, Floor Heaters, Ovens, Stoves, Refrigerators, Freezers, etc.) or Household Hazardous Waste (for example, motor oil, oil filters, antifreeze, batteries, paint, etc.)
