RethinkWaste.org is teaming up with the City of Foster City to hold a Free Community Shred Event for Foster City residents on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, or until the trucks are filled, whichever comes first, at the Senior Wing Parking Lot (650 Shell Boulevard, Foster City, CA 94404).

In order to maintain social distance for all, participants are asked to wear a mask and remain in their cars for this event.  The vendor will retrieve materials from trunks or back seats of vehicles. Please prepare your shredded materials (no more than three boxes worth) for easy retrieval from your vehicle.

In the past, there has been a flood of participation at the start of the event and a lull in the middle.  In order to reduce their wait times and help with traffic queuing, participants who can are encouraged to consider arriving between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

To raise awareness and to promote prevention of consumer fraud and identity theft, Community Shred events give Foster City residents the opportunity to have confidential documents that they no longer need safely destroyed on site, free of charge.  Staples and paper clips are OK.  Note: There is a limit of 3 boxes per household.
