The annual ranking of the Safest Cities in America by Neighborhood Scout has listed Foster City as the 63rd Safest City in America. This is up from our ranking of 98th safest city last year.
Each year since 2002, Neighborhood Scout has published a list of the top 100 safest cities in America, calculated on cities with 25,000 or more population, and based on the total number of crimes per 1000 residents. Data used for this research includes the total number of UCR (Uniformed Crime Reporting) crimes reported to the F.B.I. to have occurred in each city, and the population of each city.
Additionally, Foster City is also listed as the 8th Safest City in the entire state of California out of approximately 260 cities with a population of more than 25,000 residents. This is an accomplishment that our entire community can be proud of as it takes an effective partnership between all of whom live, work, and play here in our community to achieve these excellent levels of safety and security.
