As COVID-19 case counts continue to fall throughout the region, the City of Foster City is aligning with the guidance of the California Department of Public Health, Cal/OSHA, and the San Mateo County Health Department by lifting the indoor mask requirement at all City facilities on Monday, March 14.
While masks will no longer be required indoors at City of Foster City facilities regardless of an individual’s vaccination status, mask wearing continues to be strongly encouraged in public settings. Masking, coupled with vaccination, remains an effective strategy of preventing COVID-19 and community spread of the coronavirus and its variants.
“Our community’s strict adherence to health and safety protocols during this trying time is deeply appreciated and we hope this step will bring us closer to putting the pandemic behind us,” said Interim City Manager Kevin Miller. “We hope this transition in our City facilities is a reminder to all that your government remains open and here to serve you.”
