The City of Foster City invites all community members to participate in a new survey collecting thoughts and perspectives on the quality of life and sustainability in Foster City. Input provided in the survey will help the City understand the community’s vision, values, and priorities as the City's Climate Action Plan (CAP) is updated. All survey responses collected are anonymous; however, participants may choose to provide their email address to stay engaged in the Climate Action Planning process. The survey is available at www.fostercity.org/communitysurvey.
“The survey, in addition to the January 12th workshop, provides community members an opportunity to tell us about quality of life, what is important to them, and sustainability in Foster City,” said Mayor Jon Froomin. “Engagement and input are the cornerstones of developing community-oriented projects like the update to the City’s Climate Action Plan. The survey and the workshop are the first steps in an engagement process to help produce a plan that everyone who lives, works, and plays in Foster City can take part in developing.”
Community members will have many opportunities to provide feedback to the City. In addition to the survey, the City is hosting a hybrid Resilient & Sustainable Foster City Community Workshop on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM in the Lagoon Room at the Foster City Recreation Center, 650 Shell Blvd, Foster City. This will be the first community workshop focused on raising awareness of the Climate Action Planning process and asks community members to envision a more sustainable, resilient, and equitable Foster City. Registration is required at https://tinyurl.com/4nsa9uk3. Foster City is updating its Climate Action Plan, first adopted in 2016, and seeks community input and participation in its process and development. The CAP is Foster City’s plan to reduce its contribution to climate change while addressing the current and future impacts climate change has on Foster City.
