Foster City Is A Hosting Free Electronic Waste Collection Event By Appointment Only

RethinkWaste is teaming up with the City of Foster City to hold a free Electronic Waste Collection Event for Foster City residents on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the City Hall Parking Lot,610 Foster City Boulevard. 

This event is offered by appointment only.  Appointments may be made at www.fostercity.org.  All event participants will be required to show proof of Foster City residency and verify their appointments when entering the event.

Participants will be directed to remain in their cars for this event.  Masks are encouraged but not required. The vendor will retrieve materials from vehicles. Please prepare your materials for easy retrieval. It is illegal to dispose of electronics in the trash. Do the right thing – recycle your personal or business electronics and computer equipment for free.

Acceptable items include: camcorders, cell phones, chips and components, computers, computer monitors, connectors/cables, DVD players, fax machines, keyboards, lab equipment, fluorescent tubes/lamps (limit 5 tubes per residence), laptops, main frames, computer mice, optical drives, PC boards, PDA’s, printed circuit boards, printers, radios, scanners, servers, stereos, storage discs, tape and zip drives, televisions, UPS power supply units and VCRs.  

Unacceptable items include: household, kitchen or other large appliances (fans, dishwashers, microwaves, refrigerators), household hazardous waste, automotive or household batteries, latex paint or fluorescent lamps.
