The Foster City Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to announce the completion of playground replacements at Edgewater, Killdeer, Arcturus, and Farragut Parks. The purchase and installation of the playground structures were approved by the City Council in November 2019. The newly upgraded playgrounds are designed to include, climbing elements and spinners. Additionally, the park improvements meet current American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines, which change on an annual basis.

“I am thrilled to celebrate with our community the latest renovations to four of our City’s parks. Foster City has always prided itself on its parks and amenities. This project is another example of how we value our parks in bringing people together and building community, for residents and visitors alike,” said Parks & Recreation Director Jennifer Liu.

As each playground reopened, City staff held informal events to welcome parents and children to each park. Community members are invited to attend the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on March 24, 2020 at 3:00 PM. The ceremony will take place at Farragut Park (located at the intersection of Beach Park Blvd. and Farragut Blvd). To celebrate, light refreshments will be provided while supplies last.
