On Wednesday, April 24th, City Staff and members of the Citizens Advisory Sustainability Committee (https://www.fostercity.org/bc/page/citizens-sustainability-advisory-comm...) will be joining Off the Grid at Leo J. Ryan to celebrate Earth Day. This year’s Earth Day theme is “Protect Our Species.” City Staff will be hosting a booth at Off the Grid to educate the community about the plastic pollution problem, how it affects our environment and our health, and what we can do to address it.
We are seeing an unprecedented rapid reduction of plant and animal wildlife populations that is directly linked to human activity. The impacts are far-reaching and we must take action now to Protect our Species. Learn more about Earth Day at www.earthday.org.
In addition to providing information on ways you can protect the planet’s species, the City will be holding a raffle for four (4) useful Eco-Hero kits! The Eco-Hero kits will be filled with reusable gear that will make ditching plastic (and protecting the environment) much easier. Stop by our booth at Off the Grid from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 24 at the beautiful Leo J. Ryan Park to enter the raffle and learn how you can protect our species.
