Join the City Council, Foster City sports community members and others to celebrate the new synthetic athletic playing fields at a ribbon cutting event Thursday, September 5, at 4 p.m. in Edgewater Park. The event will feature remarks from Mayor Patrick Sullivan, Foster City staff, and more as the community comes together to appreciate these new, improved sports fields.

“We are thrilled to be cutting the ribbon on this project and sharing the opportunity for countless local athletes and community members to enjoy these beautiful new fields. We hope the Foster City community joins us at the event on September 5 to celebrate all the hard work and collaboration that made this possible,” said Parks and Recreation Director Derek Schweigart.

The new surfaces covering 79,000 square feet at Edgewater Park will be home to softball, baseball, soccer fields and a newly added flag football field. The synthetic surface, manufactured by Shaw Sports Turf, featuring an eco-friendly cork infill material will be a wonderful amenity for both youth and adults.
