Arrest of Rolex Robbery Suspects
For immediate release: September 2, 2022
Contact: Foster City Police Department Lt. Mark Lee, (650) 286-3300
On August 31, 2022, a Foster City resident was followed home, physically restrained, and had his Rolex watch ripped from his wrist by two individuals. The two individuals fled the scene in a white Chevy Tahoe.
The Chevy Tahoe was identified on Costco cameras and on a residential camera fleeing the scene, but no license plate was visible.
Foster City Police Department (FCPD) was able to identify the license plate of the Chevy Tahoe through the use of Flock cameras. Among other investigative actions, the plate was entered into Flock Safety’s Hot List.
On September 1, 2022 at approximately 6:30 PM, Galt PD contacted FCPD and advised they had been alerted to the vehicle via their Flock cameras, stopped the vehicle and detained the occupants.
FCPD detectives immediately responded to Galt to interview the occupants of the vehicle. All three occupants admitted to involvement in the crime, with the third suspect being the driver of the vehicle. The suspects were still in possession of the victim’s watch, which was recovered and will be returned to the victim.
The suspects listed below were arrested on charges of Robbery, Elder Abuse with Injury, and Conspiracy:
- Alexandra Gheorghe 18 years old (No address)
- Cau Miclescu 22 years old, out of Spring Hill, Florida
- Robert Miclescu 30 years old, out of Sacramento
Without the use of Flock Safety cameras, both in Foster City and Galt, this case may have gone unsolved. FCPD’s ability to further investigate with the added license plate information made all the difference. We are elated to be able to bring a resolution to this disgusting crime and to give the victim back his watch.
