Join Foster City Parks and Recreation for the Virtual Bike Ride Challenge of 2020. For this year's virtual ride, you will sign up according to your Foster City neighborhood. Neighborhoods will compete to see who can get the highest average mileage. We will also have a prize for the individual with the most total mileage. Show us your neighborhood spirit and join us in this fun fitness challenge. All ages are welcomed to participate. Non-Foster City Residents can use the manual tracking sheet but only Foster City residents will be eligible for prizes.
Here is a step by step review of how to participate:
- Find out your Foster City neighborhood number or letters at this link: https://www.fostercity.org/parksrec/page/foster-city-neighborhoods (if link doesn't work for you, email Bob (bkoehler@fostercity.org) or Patrick (pvizconde@fostercity.org) and we can check your address to verify your neighborhood number or letters).
- Fill out the form online to register: https://forms.gle/EusxgMZej1wN4jDW7
- Download the free MapMyRide app and create a personal account.
- Add Foster City Parks and Recreation as a friend in the MapMyRide app.
- Once friend request is accepted by us, you will receive a challenge invitation to accept. This will track your mileage during the challenge period.
- When starting your ride, make sure to set app activity to "road cycling" and save information after each ride.
- If you prefer to do the challenge on a stationary bike, you can fill out the manual form (attachment at the bottom of this page) to provide the mileage data to us.
- If you prefer to not use the app, please download the manual tracking form at the bottom of this page. You can email us a weekly update of your progress.
- Have fun and make sure to social distance!
