Want to make a positive impact in Foster City? Serving on a committee or commission is a great way for you to participate in local government and serve your community. The City of Foster City is currently accepting applications for the Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee (CSAC) to fill six vacancies. Term information is as follows:

• Five vacancies for full terms (three residents, two youth): Three-year terms, starting September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2027.

• One vacancy completing an existing term (small business representative): Three-year term, which started September 1, 2022, to August 31, 2025.

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm. CSAC consists of 10 members, comprised in the following fashion: five Foster City resident member seats; two Foster City resident youth member seats; and two in-town business member seats (one business voting member should be from one of the City’s major employers; and the other should be from one of the City’s small businesses); as well as one in-town nonprofit member seat.

The Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee shall advise the City Council on sustainability issues facing Foster City regarding environmental, economic, or social sustainability and research, review, and provide comments on proposed programs and initiatives.

Those interested are invited to submit applications by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Applicants are required to attend the August 19, 2024 City Council meeting for consideration of an official appointment.
