For Immediate Release: April 1, 2021
Contact: City Manager Department, (650) 286-3220, nonprofitfunding@fostercity.org
As part of its annual budget preparation, the City Council is pleased to announce that it will be accepting proposals for non-profit funding in Fiscal Year 2021-2022, beginning Thursday, April 1, 2021. To be considered, eligible organizations must submit a proposal by Friday, April 30 at 5:00 PM. Interested applicants may visit the City’s website to apply: www.fostercity.org/nonprofitfunding.
Each year, the City Council has set aside funds to support local non-profit agencies that operate programs and services that benefit the Foster City community and that the City would otherwise be unable to provide. Funding levels are determined annually by the City Council. The City Council has not yet made a final decision about funding for any non-profit agencies. Organizations who demonstrate that their services and assistance were provided to the community in the last fiscal year, specifically in response to and during the COVID-19 pandemic, will be given preference for funding in FY 2021-2022.
Upon closure of the application period, applicants will be required to appear at the City Council meeting on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 6:30 PM to provide a presentation/summary of their funding requests. The proposals will be reviewed by the City Council and funding levels will not be determined until a following City Council meeting on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 6:30 PM.
