For Immediate Release: May 27, 2020
Contact: Francine Magno, Associate Engineer, (650) 286-3388, fmagno@fostercity.org
By repairing streets proactively on an annual basis, the roadways in Foster City consistently rank among the best maintained roadways in the Bay Area, which contributes to the high quality of life we enjoy in the City. While most residential and commercial construction is prohibited during the County’s Shelter-In-Place Mandate, the improvement and maintenance of our City roadways is considered essential.
Along the Edgewater Boulevard corridor, this rehabilitation project consists of asphalt grinding, overlaying, curb ramp retrofitting, sidewalk repairs, curb and gutter repairs, and restriping including bike lanes and bike sharrows.
Parking restrictions will be extended to Friday May 29th, 2020. Due to rainy weather, the Contractor has encountered some delays to complete the striping work. Work will continue to take place Monday through Friday (excluding Memorial Day) between the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. During construction, lanes may be temporarily closed. Access to driveways may also be restricted. Please follow posted signs and traffic control measures for safe travel through construction zone.
The City appreciates everyone’s patience and cooperation for any inconveniences caused by construction activities as we strive to improve the roadways in Foster City. Please contact the Public Works Department at (650) 286-3270 if you have any questions or comments.
Updated project information will be posted on the City’s website at www.fostercity.org.
