Community members interested in learning more about fair housing are invited to attend a free Community Workshop. The hybrid event will occur Wednesday, August 28, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers and at https://www.fostercity.org/fairhousingworkshop on Zoom. The session will also be recorded and available for viewing online afterward by those who are unable to attend.
City staff has partnered with Project Sentinel, a nonprofit housing organization, to discuss topics at the event such as fair housing; anti-discrimination; federal, state, and local housing laws; emergencies and tenant relocation; affordable housing; dispute resolution; and more.
“We are pleased to offer this workshop as a first step in an ongoing commitment to educate and inform renters, landlords, and other community members about fair housing practices and other critical local policies,” said Community Development Director Sofia Mangalam.
The workshop is offered as part of implementation of the 2023-2031 Housing Element programs. Light refreshments will be served for those in attendance. For more information about the event, contact housing@fostercity.org and visit www.housing.org for more information about Project Sentinel.
