LimeBike, a popular, dockless, bike-share program, launches in Foster City in June! Join Mayor Sam Hindi and other City Councilmembers and representatives from LimeBike at a ribbon-cutting event at City Hall, 610 Foster City Blvd. on Wednesday, June 13 at 2pm.
LimeBike, a San Mateo based company, is introducing its fleet of bicycles, e-bikes, and e-scooters throughout the city. By downloading the LimeBike app, users can find and unlock a bike, electric bike or scooter, and ride it anywhere they like, as long as they safely park it without blocking sidewalks or access paths. Rides start at just $1 for a 30-minute ride.
The Foster City community will have a healthy, green, and affordable new way to get around. Mayor Sam Hindi said of the program, “Although many will enjoy riding the bikes and scooters around just for pleasure, the program will also help address the City’s traffic congestion by providing first-and-last mile travel options for commuters looking to get to public transportation without a car.”
The program is launching with a 50-fleet mix of bikes, e-bikes, and scooters, but will slowly ramp up based on demand and feedback from the community.
