Foster City Hires Andrew Brozyna as Public Works Director

Foster City is pleased to announce that Andrew Brozyna has been hired as the City’s new Public Works Director. Prior to his hiring in Foster City, he served as Deputy Director of Public Works, Operations in the City of Berkeley, where he has worked since 2017. He will begin work in Foster City on Monday, June 26.
“We are thrilled to have Andrew Brozyna join our executive leadership team,” said City Manager Stefan Chatwin. “His breadth of experience and sharp leadership skills will help assure that Foster City residents continue to enjoy reliable and excellent services from the Public Works Department.”
In all, Mr. Brozyna has more than two decades of public sector experience in communities across California, including terms in the cities of Hermosa Beach, Calabasas, Ventura, Milpitas, and more. Prior to joining the public sector, his career began working for engineering and contracting firms that helped him understand how private companies conduct business with public agencies. He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in civil engineering and is a registered professional engineer in California.

The Public Works Department manages infrastructure construction, operations, and maintenance programs for streets, drainage, lagoon and levee, water, and wastewater. The department also manages the Capital Improvement Program and reviews infrastructure improvements for private developments within the City.
