CITY FACILITIES CLOSURE, EFFECTIVE MARCH 16, 2020
On March 14, 2020, San Mateo County Health Officer Dr. Scott Morrow issued an update regarding his previous legal order to prohibit mass gatherings and further limit the number of persons who may gather. In an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our staff and patrons, the City of Foster City will be closing its facilities to the public, effective Monday, March 16 through Sunday, April 5 in response to the mitigation measures being taken Countywide and in addition to growing concerns over novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
This includes the closure of City Hall, the Police Department Front Lobby, the Recreation Center, Senior Center, the VIBE, and Corporation Yard. The City will continue to provide essential services and encourages the public to refer to services available to be conducted over phone, by email, and/or online as provided below. Given the rapidly changing situation, the City will continue to reassess and make adjustments as necessary. More information on specific actions that the City of Foster City will take in response to COVID-19 will be shared as soon as it is available.
The City of Foster City continues to work closely with the County of San Mateo and neighboring jurisdictions to monitor and respond to the evolving COVID-19 situation and its potential impacts. Maintaining the safety and health of our community and City staff remain our utmost priority. We are carefully reviewing the latest recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the San Mateo County Health Officer as we evaluate next steps. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and San Mateo County Health remain the best resources for current information about the COVID-19, and information is available at www.cdc.gov or www.smchealth.org/coronavirus.
We appreciate your support and cooperation during these uncertain times as we work together to maintain the well-being of our community.
