Foster City, CA; June 4, 2020 – Make a difference in Foster City on a vital project! The City of Foster City is currently accepting applications for the Levee Bond Oversight Committee. In 2018, Foster City voters passed Measure P, which authorizes the City to issue a $90 million general obligation (GO) bond to improve and strengthen the Foster City levee system. Levee improvements will allow Foster City to maintain FEMA accreditation and also protect essential city services during storms or earthquake damage. The Levee Bond Oversight Committee will review and report on the proper expenditures of bond revenues from Measure P. Each year, the Committee will submit two written reports to the City Council summarizing the Committee’s activities and stating whether the expenditures comply with Measure P’s requirements.

Appointees shall serve either a two-year term or three-year term, beginning upon appointment.  Applicants must be at least 18 years old and either a resident of Foster City or an authorized representative of a Foster City business. Interested applicants are invited to submit applications by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. Applicants are required to attend the July 20, 2020 City Council meeting for consideration of official appointment. Due to COVID-19, applicants may be invited to join the meeting via teleconference.
