Foster City Parks Master Plan

The Foster City’s Parks System consists of 24 parks, eight miles of levee pedway, and various other public open spaces. Despite continuous maintenance and improvements, many of the City’s parks are aging, requiring renewed attention to park infrastructure to ensure the parks system remains relevant and continues to meet resident needs now and in the future.

The Parks & Recreation Department has launched a Park Master Plan to guide the development, maintenance, and funding of the community’s parks and recreational facilities and programs for decades to come. The Department is leading this planning effort with the help of a consultant team to facilitate the project and write the plan.

Join the Parks Master Plan Task Force

Foster City is seeking applications from community members interested in serving on the Park Master Plan Task Force, which will advise the project team creating the Parks Master Plan.

Applications to serve on the Task Force are being sought from residents who use and enjoy the many parks and recreational amenities across Foster City. Some examples may include those involved in youth and adult sports leagues, sport court users (tennis, pickle ball, basketball, bocce etc.), recreational water users, cultural organizations, clubs for seniors, and many more. If you or someone you know regularly uses and appreciates the Foster City parks system, please consider applying.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 26. Applicants must be Foster City residents, and able to attend several meetings occurring on a bi-monthly or quarterly basis which will begin in October and occur throughout the duration of the planning process, which is slated to complete in December 2025.
