ABOUT 'HOME IS FOSTER CITY'
Whether it’s where we live or the neighbors we grow up with, housing connects everyone in Foster City. From our beautiful lagoon to our world-class park system, we’re proud that home is Foster City. Housing is a topic with many interrelated issues that affect us all. Over the last several years, San Mateo County has added many more new jobs than places for those workers to live. This imbalance, combined with many other factors including an ineffective transportation system, drives up the cost of housing for homebuyers and renters alike and contributes to congestion and long commutes for workers. Now is the time for our community to have a conversation about how we can work together to maintain and improve our quality of life. This will involve reflecting on who we are as a community, learning together, and understanding the various factors related to housing.
Please join us and your neighbors for a different conversation on housing in the next Community Dialogue Series. We invite you to learn with us through engaging conversations, listening to many perspectives, and continuing the dialogue. Share your thoughts with us, attend a community conversation, or stop by a pop-up event—we are in this together and want to hear from you!
Home is Foster City is the next conversation in the Community Dialogue Series. View the Home is Foster City overview here. The timeline for this project is below.
HOUSING CONTEXT
Everyone is impacted by housing one way or another. Whether you own a waterfront home or your mortgage payments or rents are too high, housing affects you and your loved ones. Whether you cannot find employees to work in your small business, your commute to work is too long, or you are uncertain about where to find housing, housing affects us all.
