Foster City Local Business Spotlight Program

City of Foster City Local Business Spotlight program is a FREE business recognition program designed to create awareness about the variety of local businesses and their contributions to the Foster City community and region.

The City of Foster City “Local Business Spotlight” program will highlight one local business in the City every quarter, who has demonstrated going above and beyond the call of business to better the community.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Through an application process, a committee will choose among applicants one business that will celebrated and honored with a proclamation during the special presentation segment of a City Council meeting. In addition, the business will be highlighted on the City's website, and be awarded a brief professional video production created by the City that will be showcased on the City’s website, social media platforms, and given to the business with rights to use as needed to promote their business.  

Featured businesses are those that have chosen Foster City as their home, and whose story highlights the benefits of locating in Foster City, and how they have contributed positively in the Foster City community.  The aim of this program is to foster pride in Foster City’s thriving business community and strong local economy.

PROCESS

City staff will review the application form for completeness and verify business license status.

Committee will review applications submitted, and City staff will contact the selected business to schedule an interview / video shoot time and date.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE LOCAL BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT

All businesses and nonprofit organizations with a valid City of Foster City business license that occupy a commercial business location are eligible to apply. The public is also able to nominate businesses for this special recognition.
