Updated Approved Roofing Materials List

Due to the fact that many manufacturers have changed the warranties provided on their materials, the Community development Department has changed the Approved Roofing Materials List to refer to the thickness of the material rather than the amount of the warranty in order to achieve the thicker, dimensional appearance intended by the Planning Commission when they adopted their policy on re-roofing.

The Approved Roofing Materials List includes a list of pre-approved roof materials and colors for use in single family R-1 zones in Foster City. Re-roofing in planned developments, i.e., developments with a homeowners' association, are not governed by these lists and must conform to the materials approved for a specific development. As the Community Development Department becomes aware of new materials and colors, the list will be updated. Updates will be posted on the website.
