FAQ - What is the flood zone designation for my property

Question: What is the flood zone designation for my property?

Answer: On April 18, 2008, The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) issued a preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) showing Foster City in a Special Flood Hazard Zone (Zone A).  FEMA has determined that Foster City is at risk of flooding from an unimproved section of levee in San Mateo. Foster City officials are diligently and proactively working with their counterparts in San Mateo to get the levee fixed to preclude the preliminary flood zone designation from becoming final in the Spring of 2010.  Follow the link below for more information.
